While I was reading the bio of Balzac by the French author Titiou Lecoq (that I warmly recommend if you are a French speaker, alongside the peanut butter toasts/bananas. I had to wait up to 30 years of existence to discover the wonder of this great combination. Digression, I know…), I thought that the Behind the scene of every creation should be more visible. Creating is not always this act of pure magic where radiant muses are swirling around you while tap dancing, allowing you to give birth, one fine morning, to the perfect piece of art.
Creating is about few hours of sleep, doubts, dedication, fails & learning where not to compromise. And it can be fucking hard. But it’s as well about big personal victories, connection, support, feeling of accomplishment (and peanut butter toasts). And I will never recommend enough to any creator to read what Amanda Palmer has to say about it in her book the Art of Asking (Because books can change your life, for real…).
I had the idea to document my journey in a messy video diary (I’m not Spielberg, though I know a bit when it comes to weird bed head. This was worth sharing). So, while the big project is getting finalised, you can still enjoy the gift of my shiny skin and The Exorcist’s inspired glances.
